Sunday Classic: That’s The Way Love Goes

Sunday, November 30th, 2008

This is a Janet Jackson song from 1993 and her most successful single ever. It’s a shame Janet wants to make dance music nowadays, because she is so good at making more soulful music, like on her “Velvet Rope” album. Take notice of a young Jennifer Lopez in the video, a bit over the top, eh?

Lily Allen Update – now with balloons

Saturday, November 29th, 2008

My favourite British brat Lily Allen is back with new material. When I heard Lilys first leaked songs off the new album I was quite nervous, because it’s a different direction for her, and I really loved her debut album!
But now I surrendered to her new single called “The Fear”, whick will be released i January with the album “It’s Not Me, It’s You” (great title!) coming out February. Lily just shot a video, and judging by the pictures from the shoot it looks promising.
Let’s just hope she can get though all the press gracefully the next couple of months, and the album should be a success. Lily is know to say a lot of stupid things, so some mediatraining wouldn’t hurt.

Britney performs "Womanizer" LIVE

Friday, November 28th, 2008

Britters went to Germany to perform for the first time this year with “Womanizer”! Of course this is not a live performance in the traditional sense, because Britneys performances are always more a show than a concert, and she is the queen of lip synching. Nice moves though!

Damn girl!

RiRi brought her best dominatrix/pirate gear to the American Music Awards. Great performance of “Rehab” below.

Don’t be "Mad" Ne-Yo

Wednesday, November 26th, 2008

This a a more serious video from Ne-Yo than we are used to. Third single off the new album is called “Mad” and is of course a Stargate production. The producing team is behind several of Ne-Yos smash hits.

Leona in the Enchanted Forest

Tuesday, November 25th, 2008

Our favourite girl next door Leona Lewis just made this video for the single “Run”. The video was shot in Capetown, South Africa. The song is a cover of Snow Patrols version, and it has really grown on me. Leona first performed this on the famous radio 1 show in the UK last year, and the response was amazing! So it’s a clever move to release it now.

This just in: Pink is Sober

Tuesday, November 25th, 2008

I have been waiting for this video for ages, it was shot in september and was directed by the music video mastermind Jonas Åkerlund. Damn those brilliant swedes! This video is very artistic and surreal, and it’s a perfect move for Pink after her colourful and fun video for “So What”. Watch out for the scene where she makes out with herself! Watch the video HERE.

Comeback Brit

Tuesday, November 25th, 2008

Britney Spears looks healthy and cute on the cover of Rolling Stone Magazine. Jeans and a t-shirt is a good choice of clothes to give her back that wholesome image, huh? Hope the article is good.

Check out the other Britney-covers on Rolling Stone through the years… Some of them are legendary.

2008: Earlier this year Rolling Stone printed a disturbing article about Britneys meltdown…

2003: A really sexy cover before she got really scandalous, married, had kids and took a break from the Rolling Stone cover.

2001: What’s going on with the cleavage?

2001: Britney is growing up and wants to be taken seriously.

2000: Fashion in year 2000 was all about leather pants!

1999: This cover started a huge debate about Britneys sexy image – a lot of american parents were outraged.

Today Kanye Wests new album is released, and you already know, that this is a musthave for all musicfans out there. I am really blown away by “808s & Heartbreak” because Kanye is so innovative, honest and heartbroken on this album. Almost every song is about a relationship gone wrong, and it’s no wonder: The last year Kanye lost his dear mother and broke off the engagement with his girlfriend. Musically the album is quite creative, using heavy beats mixed with classical arrangements and a lot of futuristic sound effects. The vocoder follows Kanye throughout the record, and although a lot of people are against the vocoder, I think he uses it in a clever way – to express sorrow and emotion. I really like it!

Favourite songs:
Amazin feat. Young Yeezy
See You In My Nightmares feat. Lil Wayne
Robocop
Bad News
Coldest Winter

Rock & Roll Reunion

Big news! No Doubt just put a new photo on their website and announced that they are back in business! Check it out here. It’s been a long five years since we heard from No Doubt. Gwen Stefani has of course been busy: She delivered two albums and two babies! And Tony Kanal has recently been producing songs for Pink.
Now No Doubty are ready to tour, write new songs and eventually put out a new album. Exciting!
Let’s celebrate with one of my No Doubt favourites, they have made so many good songs…

Sugababes + Naked Men

Saturday, November 22nd, 2008

This is painful to watch. Why can´t the Sugababes make a decent video? Their new single is called “No Can Do”.

Come on Solange!

Friday, November 21st, 2008

After seeing the two first videos from Solanges debut album I’m dissapointed by this video for “T.O.N.Y”. This is actually my favourite track of Solanges “Sol-Angel & The Hadley Street Dreams” album, but this black&white mess feauturing a pregnancy test is not doing the song any justice! But all this doesnt change the fact, that Solange is really talented and creative.

KERI "From The Hood" HILSON

Friday, November 21st, 2008

Hot new video from Keri Hilson. The song is called “Turnin’ Me On” and feautures Lil Wayne, sounds a little ninetees to me, but it works. I just hope we dont get a Nicole Szhezinger situation on our hands: all singles and no album! Keris “In A Perfect World” is supposed to drop in the first quater of 2009. Why do all albums get pushed back this month? 50 Cent, Ciara and now Keri.

This is not bad..

Wednesday, November 19th, 2008

Teenage heartthrob Jesse McCartney just released a video for “It’s Over”. Great song. The video reminds me a bit about Justins “Cry Me A River”. See the resemblance?

Both videos have:
Nice furniture
Hot girls
Rain
Technology
Effects

A Dreamy Place Called Rehab

Tuesday, November 18th, 2008

Finally Rihannas new video is out for the song “Rehab”. The director is unsurprisingly Anthony Mandler, and this is the tenth video he is making with Rihanna. That sounds a bit boring, but the video is truly beautiful, and now all girls will need to go to a place called “Justin Rehab”. Sigh… I like the dreamy vibe, and that RiRi really knows how to work the camera.
