Mariah channels her inner rapper

Tuesday, June 30th, 2009

Brett Ratner has previously made some good videos for Mariah Carey, including the epic “We Belong Together”, the charming “Touch My Body” and legendary favorite “Heartbreaker”! Now they are working together again on Mariahs new video for “Obsessed”, the much hyped first single supposedly about Eminem! Well check out some photos from the shoot where Mariah is dressed as an awfully familiar rapper…

Looks like we have a video classic on the way!

Jay-Z is BACK

Tuesday, June 30th, 2009

Jay-Z will release a new album in September, but he is already busy creating some buzz with his first single “D.O.A.” (Death Of Autotune). The video is here and it just shows why Jigga is the bestest.

BET Awards was all about MJ

Monday, June 29th, 2009

As I mentioned earlier the BET Awards made major changes in the show to honor Michael Jackson. First the host Jamie Foxx had a MJ inspired intro.

Ciara sang “Heal The World”, didn’t sound very good but still a nice gesture.

When Jamie Foxx performed his brills single “Blame It”, he started things off with a little MJ detail.

Ne-Yo performed “Lady In My Life”.

Keri Hilson made the most of the “This is bad, real bad, Michael Jackson” line from her “Knock You Down” when she performed, while rockin’ the socks! Perfect!

No Chris Brown in sight, guess they didn’t allow him to perform anyway.

Lily Allen tries to be Gaga

Sunday, June 28th, 2009

Wow, the look that Lily Allen chose for the Glastonbury festival performance was so WRONG. Girl, we love your voice and your cheeky songs. But let Lady Gaga do the Gaga, and just stick to the “dress and trainers” look that made you fah-mousss.
Check out Lilys GREAT new video for “FUCK YOU”.

Michael Jackson tribute tonight

Sunday, June 28th, 2009

I has been hard to blog after the tragic passing of Michael Jackson, but here goes. I am a bit frustrated about that the media portrays him as a crazy pill addict. Even if that’s true, it’s not very important right now.
Tonight the BET Awards (Black Entertainment Awards) will have a special segment dedicated to Michael Jackson. The tribute will feature Ne-Yo, Usher, Beyoncé AND Chris Brown + many more! So watch the show if you can, or come back tomorrow where I can hopefully post the MJ-tribute.

R.I.P. Michael Jackson

This weeks Billboard Hot 100 surprise

Thursday, June 25th, 2009

Like last week Black Eyed Peas stay on top with TWO singles, amazing.
But then look at number 3! The Canadian rapper Drake has climbed up into the top three all the way from last weeks 27. His big hit is “Best I Ever Had” – song is simple, but obviously sticks to peoples brains and iPods!

Welcome to the top Drake! Music
video directed by Kanye West himself is in the works. Looks like this is going to be biiiiiig.

Madonna and old guys make that money

Thursday, June 25th, 2009

Woman, you can buy all the liquorice in the world! Madonna is always on top of these lists. Together with old time rockers, Celine and Queen B, she made A LOT of money, I suspects it’s from extensive touring.

Top 10 List Of Forbes’ World’s Highest-Earning Musicians:

1. Madonna 110 million dollars
2. Celine Dion 100 million dollars
3. Beyonce Knowles 87 million dollars
4. Bruce Springsteen 70 million dollars
5. Kenny Chesney 65 million dollars
6. (tie) Coldplay 60 million dollars
6. (tie) Rascal Flatts 60 million dollars
6. (tie) AC DC 60 million dollars
9. The Eagles 55 million dollars
10. Toby Keith 52 million dollars

Ciara gets to WORK

Tuesday, June 23rd, 2009

The sexy R&B singer gets her high fashion swag on in the new video for “Work”. The track isn’t interesting, but the video totally makes up for it. It’s directed by ever so popular Melina, and her videos are all about taking a known environment to a whole new level of “too-much”. This time she played with the idea of a construction site.

Props to Ciara for delivering lots and lots of energy here. She’s even kinda charming! Maybe I’ll even forgive her for her boring new album and that awkward “Love Sex Magic” track.

Brilliant Lily Allen video

Tuesday, June 23rd, 2009

Just watch!

Nice to see an original music video, even though Lily herself probably had nothing to do with it.

Lady Gaga Outfit Watch

Monday, June 22nd, 2009

Well of course she wore an explosive bra! Lady Gaga really gave the audience a wiiiiiiild performance during the Much Music Awards. Watch below.

Pink invites us into her "Funhouse"

Sunday, June 21st, 2009

The rowdy and raw Pink is ready with her fifth single from the “Funhouse” album, this time it’s the title track. Great video with lots of attitude!

Tony Kanal from No Doubt co-wrote this song, gives it a nice touch. Check him out around the two minute mark

FINALLY: Beyoncé to release "Sweet Dreams"

Saturday, June 20th, 2009

This is good news! One of the first tracks that were leaked before Beyoncé released “I Am…Sasha Fierce” was “Sweet Dreams”. I instantly fell in love with the track, it has that mainstream appeal and a killer chorus. Now B is finally releasing it as her next single, and here is a very interesting behind the scenes video.

Girl is looking good!

Come Fall

Saturday, June 20th, 2009

Summer is great and all, but it’s nice to have something to look forward too when the cold and rainy fall hits us. Here’s an album update!

Whitney Houston

It’s really happening. Whitney has divorced Bobby Brown and is ready for that ultimate comeback thing that’s so in fashion right now. Hotshots such as Ne-Yo, Will.I.Am and John Legend have been working on material for Whitney, so expectations are high!

R.Kelly
In September R. Kelly will release a new album titled “Untitled”, clever huh? First single will be “No. 1 Sex” featuring our fave R&B chick Keri Hilson. “Untitled” will the the first album since “Double Up” in 2007.

50 Cent
“Before I Self Destruct” has been delayed SO many times, but now it’s slated for a September release. Let’s get this album out already! It’ going to be the same stuff as usual, Eminem, Dre and hopefully some new party anthems.

Jay-Z

Get ready for “The Blueprint³”. The rappers eleventh studio album! The blogosphere is already burnin up because of the teaser single “D.O.A. (Death Of Autotune)”, so it looks like Jay-Z is ready to deliver again.

Other albums on the way:

Mariah Carey will release “Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel” in the end of August. First single “Obsessed” is pretty darn good, so let’s hope the rest of the material is bangin.
P.Diddy is ready to release “Last Train To Paris” in September. Hope this will be delayed, because we ain’t needin any Diddy, you feel me?
Christina Aguilera, Missy Elliott, Mary J. Blige and Snoop Dogg are cooking up new albums to be served in the fall too.

So cross your fingers that we wont have too many album delays, and the fall might just become your favorite season.

This is just plain CRAZY

Thursday, June 18th, 2009

Black Eyed Peas have scored themselves the two highest spots on the Billboard Hot 100! The new single “I Gotta Feeling” is up on number 2 the first week. DAYUM.
